Payroll Specialist

This is a full time, TEMPORARY-to-HIRE contractual opportunity that could lead to a permanent position and is located near Trevose, PA. The working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm. The schedule is open to REMOTE candidates, but they will prefer those that live near the Pennsylvania office and can commute for an ONSITE or HYBRID schedule.

A well established payroll & financial servicing company is looking to add a Payroll Specialist to their team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll within UKG-Ready software. The ideal candidate will be extremely detailed, thorough, and a self-starter. This person will excel with minimal cross-training on their UKG-Readi HRIS payroll platform, making improvements to develop & finetune their payroll processes/software. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of Excel (VLOOKUPs & Pivot Tables).

Responsibilities:

• Perform weekly and semi-monthly payroll operations for multiple entities and employee classifications using UKG-Ready software.

• Implement and troubleshoot HRIS modules within the UKG Ready software.

• Handle tax-related documents such as 1099s and W2s, and different tax types.

• Process benefits, 401k, garnishments, and other related tasks.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs to maintain and process payroll data.

• Engage in potential tax filing payments.

• Improve and fine-tune payroll processes and software.

• Maintain and update accurate customer credit records.

• Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.

Requirements:

• Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist.

• Proficient in the use of UKG Ready.

• Experience with HRIS Payroll System is required.

• Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs & Pivot Tables)

• Excellent problem-solving/judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations is preferred.
