Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for performing maintenance procedures on plant equipment. The individual will have a good working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of shop equipment. This role requires applying mechanical ability in all aspects of the job while performing daily routine activities. The candidate will perform proper preventive maintenance using approved, safe techniques, ensuring equipment is ready for production start-up, and repair worn-out or damaged equipment. Additionally, the role involves performing needed equipment modifications and fabrications, assisting production, sanitation, and other support groups when needed, and demonstrating a good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP). The candidate will develop and implement innovations to improve efficiency, safety, uptime, and reduce maintenance costs, as well as lubricate equipment with a thorough understanding of requirements for a variety of devices and applications.

Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance procedures on plant equipment.
  • Apply mechanical ability in all aspects of the job while performing daily routine activities.
  • Perform proper preventive maintenance using approved, safe techniques.
  • Ensure equipment is ready for production start-up.
  • Repair worn-out or damaged equipment.
  • Perform needed equipment modification and fabrication.
  • Assist production, sanitation, and other support groups when needed.
  • Demonstrate good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).

  • Basic understanding of maintenance and installation of facility plumbing systems, boilers, air compressors, and hydraulic systems

  • Basic understanding of HACCP and food safety concepts

Work Environment

Shift hours are as follows: 1st shift is 6 AM-3 PM, 2nd shift is 2 PM-11 PM, and 3rd shift is 10 PM-7 AM, with working hours spanning 5-6 days a week for 9-10 hours per day.
