Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary:An Automation Technologist II must fulfil all the requirements of an Automation Technologist with advanced proficiency and technical skill. This incumbent is responsible for diagnosing electrical malfunctions and applying electrical theory to test and modify equipment and components. Generates and implements Changes to PLC, computer programs and Drives. Maintains and installs control system communications. Must be able to troubleshoot, service and repair industrial process control systems, instrumentation, robotic assembly devices, and computer-controlled equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must perform and meet all requirements and responsibilities of the Automation Technologist as well as train and support all incumbents in the Automation Technologist role.
- Facilitates Capital projects assigned to the Automation team and coordinates the activities of lower-level maintenance employees and contractors on assigned projects.
- Directs in-house projects (order parts, host meetings, supervise installation, etc)
- Provide accurate and detailed IBA/PLC analysis of all operational issues
- Performs advanced PLC programming, networking, and troubleshooting; setup and install hardware; and as necessary evaluate equipment making recommendation for design changes and improvements.
- Has expert knowledge and understanding, as well as the ability to modify, ancillary systems or equipment used in conjunction with PLCs such as: operating systems, software packages, drives and/or data acquisition systems, taking care to identify the root causes of equipment failure.
- Ability to rebuild/configure all PC's/HMIs plantwide
- Detailed knowledge and experience with AC/DC Drives
- Well experienced with all areas and equipment of the entire facility
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Automation Technologist (12002965)
- Post-Secondary Education in a related field
- Ability to demonstrate a strong technical aptitude
- Highly self-motivated
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing or walking, balance, bend, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, and push and pull objects.
- Ability to reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged sitting.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to operate hand controls with both hands and foot pedals with both feet.
- Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching.
- Ability to work in extreme ambient temperatures up to 160°ree;F.
- Ability to work in cramped quarters and at heights.
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including days, nights and weekends.
- Ability to tolerate working in areas where noise levels can reach 120 decibels.

Pay Details: 90,000.00 to 130,000.00 per year
