Job Description

As a Waste Water Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the water treatment facility and ensuring the safe and accurate operation of the water treatment process. This position is a stepping stone to becoming a maintenance technician, with opportunities for training and professional growth. You will be expected to work independently after training and manage the sanitation of water tanks, equipment monitoring, minor mechanical repairs, and chemical analysis procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Sanitize water tanks and operate the water treatment process safely and accurately.
  • Monitor facilities equipment and perform minor mechanical repairs on production process equipment.
  • Manage sludge and use solvents and cleaning agents as required.
  • Conduct chemical analysis procedures (training provided).
  • Work independently in the water treatment facility, with support available when needed.
  • Ensure proper time management and attendance.
  • Handle and operate equipment used in semiconductor parts manufacturing and processing.
Essential Skills
  • Strong mechanical inclination.
  • Comfortable wearing PPE clothing, including smocks, face masks, and flame retardant suits.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic and math.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Computer savvy.
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in water treatment, maintenance, and facility maintenance.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience as a maintenance technician.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and preventive maintenance.
  • Experience with water transfer, water operation, and wastewater treatment.
  • Comfortable using power tools and handling chemicals.

Work Environment

You will work in a semiconductor parts manufacturing and processing environment. This role requires comfort in handling equipment that holds chemicals and wearing full protective gear, including smocks, face masks, and sometimes flame retardant suits. The shift schedule is Sun-Tues with alternating Wednesdays, from 6pm to 6:30am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillsboro, Oregon.
