Position Overview:

Performs various loan processing tasks on a daily basis to assure that pending residential mortgage loans progress toward an underwriting decision within acceptable time frames. Facilitates loan closings and provides administrative, technical and customer service support to the residential lending function.


Primary Responsibilities:

Performs any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers:

  • Under the direction of the Senior Vice President, Residential Lending, verifies, compiles and performs data entry information for residential mortgage loans. Creates pending loan file information using specialized software.
  • Prepares written disclosures and other correspondence for timely delivery to applicants.
  • Obtains credit bureau reports, verification of income, employment and assets, and updates loan files as data is received.
  • Gathers information from a variety of internal and external sources to verify and update pending loan files for final review and decision by underwriters.
  • Resolves basic processing problems to expedite loan decisions.
  • Communicates status of pending loan files to loan originators and applicants as necessary.
  • Participates in the pre-closing document review for residential mortgage loans scheduled to close. Assures closing documents are accurately prepared for delivery to the closing attorney and funding of loan is accurately prepared on a timely basis.
  • Participates in both the electronic delivery and physical packaging and shipping of closed loans to investors.

Other Responsibilities:

Perform related and unrelated duties as may be required.


Requirements:
  • Associates Degree or equivalent professional and academic experience
  • Three years of residential lending experience including processing new loans and/or preparing loans for closing.
  • Working knowledge of secondary mortgage market underwriting guidelines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of residential lending regulations .
  • Strong customer service, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task in a faced pace environment.
  • Experience utilizing mortgage loan origination software, experience with Encompass is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
