You like solving problems whether they are big or small. There will be days where you deploy log filtering changes, adjustments to our aggregation tools, and others where you are helping with changes/deployments throughout the AWS architecture. Occasionally there will be days where you spend a whole day investigating why something broke the way it did and how to prevent it. We are looking for someone with a strong focus/ passion for monitoring.

Qualifications and Duties:

· Operating Systems: Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows servers

· DevOps: Experience with CI/CD process and tools (Ansible, Terraform, Git)

· Networking: Basic knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, etc.)

· System Automation: Some experience deploying and configuring systems (Terraform, Ansible)

· Scripting Skills: Intermediate scripting and automation skills (Shell Scripting, Python, etc.)

· AWS: Infrastructure experience in AWS (IAM, EC2, ALB/ELB, Lambda, VPC, S3, RDS)

· Problem Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues related to the monitoring of the environment.

· Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and process management skills

· On-Call Rotation: Ability to provide after-hours support for the infrastructure

Great Things About This Job:

· Reciprocal Flexibility: Sometimes you need to pick up kids, see a doctor, or run a midday errand. No worries.

· Breadth of Experience: You can expect to be crossing paths with nearly every technical discipline at the company at some point.

· Team Comradery / Work-Life: Whether it is an Escape Room, Taco Tuesday, or Gaming after-hours, we are big on building and maintaining healthy relationships.

· Yearly Bonuses / Profit Sharing: When the company does well you get a slice of the pie.

· Hybrid work environment

Challenges You Can Expect:

· Reciprocal flexibility: Sometimes software breaks at awkward hours and your counterpart is in the other hemisphere and isn’t available or able to deploy a fix. You may get the call.

· High Pressure: When Adam Jacobs (CTO of Chef) says, “Legacy Software is what runs the planet,” it’s like he is talking directly to our team. We are transitioning from traditional SaaS-era technology to cloud and microservice-based and both need to run as smooth as possible.
