Job DescriptionJob Description

LHH is looking for a full-time Senior Accountant to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP or IFRS.

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

  • Assist in preparing management reports and presentations.

  1. General Ledger Maintenance

  • Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring proper recording of transactions.

  • Reconcile accounts, including bank accounts, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.

  1. Accounts Management

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable.

  • Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow projections.

  1. Compliance and Auditing

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and financial regulations.

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reports.

  1. Tax and Regulatory Filings

  • Prepare and review tax filings, including income tax, sales tax, and other regulatory reports.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.

  1. Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor junior accountants or accounting clerks.

  • Review work completed by team members for accuracy and compliance.

  1. Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and implement best practices.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems and tools.

  1. Special Projects

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.

  • Provide support for mergers, acquisitions, or other financial initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a senior role.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems or financial planning software.

  • Knowledge of tax laws and compliance regulations.

  • Prior experience in a specific industry (e.g., manufacturing, retail, or technology) is a plus.

Compensation: $30-$35/hour DOE
