Job Description

The Anodizer applies protective masking to parts according to customer specifications, ensuring the timely production of high-quality products. This role involves using a variety of metal dips for diverse product lines and industries, such as E-nickel, high phosphorus, anodize, gold, silver, tin, tin-lead, cadmium, copper, and more.

Responsibilities

• Apply tape, liquid masking, plugs, etc., to parts in accordance with established practices and procedures to satisfy customer specifications.
• Follow written and verbal work instructions to ensure accuracy of each project.
• Select and use proper tools, such as paint brushes and plug sizes.
• Perform plating tasks using standard racks, stringer racking method, and plating barrels, following simple formulas and specifications.
• Perform accurate and timely process cycle calculations.
• Assist in testing, mixing, and maintaining solutions under direct guidance.
• Regulate current and temperature as prescribed in process traveler.
• Rack, un-rack, and pack products correctly when required.
• Be trained in cleaning, passivation, plating, anodizing, chemical conversion coating, stripping, and reworking non-conforming products.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and follow instructions in workplace English.
• Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift, walk, and reach without restrictions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with masking, racking, assembly, mechanical assembly, and hand tools.
• Experience in production and plating processes.

Work Environment

This position is based in a metal plating facility with concrete floors. The environment has a very strong smell, and candidates are required to wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, rubber boots (provided by the company), and ear plugs when on the production floor. The smell and chemicals present the biggest challenges for candidates.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00
