U.S. DIRECTOR OF SALES - International Industry Leader

My client, an industry leader based in the UK, is searching for a Director of Sales for their business unit in the United States. This is an immediate, direct-hire opportunity. The U.S. Director of Sales will be pivotal to the success and future growth of the organization and will be responsible for building and leading a team, maintaining and growing client numbers and revenue, and deepening the company's market share. The U.S. Director of Sales will be responsible for leading and managing a sales team to achieve the company's sales goals while hiring and training sales representatives, managing a sales pipeline, and developing and implementing sales strategies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies and business development plans in collaboration with senior executives.
  • Inspire and scale a commissioned salesforce capable of serving diverse clients across multiple industries.
  • Lead multi-channel sales opportunities from identification to closure, including negotiations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on products and services that meet market demands.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new sales opportunities and formulate pricing strategies.
  • Work with legal counsel to ensure contracts and terms are appropriate and effective.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process and long-term growth planning through revenue forecasting.
  • Provide insights for monthly board reports based on KPIs and other performance metrics.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and monitor market trends, including competitor analysis.
  • Drive the development and launch of new products and services to enhance revenue growth.
  • Optimize various sales channels, including inbound, business development, and e-commerce.
  • Ensure high client satisfaction through effective management, retention, and cross-selling of services.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key client contacts and engage in regular communication.
  • Represent the company at industry events and client meetings, promoting our brand and services.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and maintain a competitive understanding of the market landscape.
  • Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively address client needs.


  • Bachelors in Business, Economics, Communcations or other business related field of study required.
  • 5+ years experience in a Director/Head of Sales position building and leading sales teams.
  • Possess the ability to consider the bigger picture and have a clear understanding of how business works.
  • Stay up to date with current and possible future industry policies, practices, trends, technology and information.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the company's products and services, the target market, and the competitive landscape.
  • Develop and nurture strong internal relationships.
  • Build relationships with key suppliers and influencers.
  • Possess the ability to listen, question and assimilate and then present relevant and attractive business proposals.
  • Able to identify opportunities for the business in multiple and changing environments.
