Job Title: MCE (Major Component Exchange) Foreman

Location: Various sites (Southwest/Texas, Maine, Iowa, Oklahoma, New York, Montana)

Job Type: Full-Time, 100% Travel; 6 weeks on/1 week off (need to be available 7 days a week - guaranteed pay for 40 hours every week)

PR: $35-65/hr

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MCE Field Foreman to oversee and coordinate the on-site exchange of major wind turbine components. The Field Foreman will report to the client and ensure that all work is performed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with industry standards and best practices. This position requires extensive travel, with 6 weeks in the field followed by 1 week of rest and recuperation (R&R).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Compliance: Assist contract teams with applying the appropriate Lockout/Tagout ("LOTO") procedures. Conduct routine safety audits of the site (up tower and down tower) and enter findings into tracking software. Assist in near miss and injury investigations and other safety reporting.
  • Team Management: Oversee a team of technicians and support staff, ensuring all team members are properly trained, equipped, and motivated. Work with the team to identify "wind windows" to perform tasks in a timely manner.
  • Component Exchange: Oversee the removal and installation of major wind turbine components, such as nacelles, generators, gearboxes, and blades, following established client procedures and safety protocols.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work adheres to the clients quality standards and best practices as outlined in work instructions. Enter quality documentation into the assigned system before job completion.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with client Project Managers, support engineers, customers, and O&M site managers to ensure timely and compliant component exchange.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed, including safety checklists, daily POD ("probability of detection"), inspection/audit reports, quality reports, and other related documentation as assigned by client Management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of safely controlling hazardous energy and following LOTO procedures ("lockout tagout")
  • 5 years of experience as a field or manufacturing engineer or health and safety engineer
  • Proven track record with managing crane operations or overseeing work at heights/involving cranes (EX: tower cranes)
  • Strong leadership/organizational skills
  • Excellent communication
  • Valid drivers license

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in wind turbine major components
  • In depth knowledge of wind turbine technology
  • Certified safety professional (EX: CSP or OSHA)
