Job Details
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Superintendent to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of high-profile commercial projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction management, with a focus on budgeting, subcontractor management, blueprint reading, scheduling, site management, and team leadership. This role is a key player in ensuring that our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
As a Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
1. Overseeing all stages of project life cycle, managing construction schedules and coordinating with various teams and subcontractors to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects.
2. Reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure construction project follows the design.
3. Managing the site, including ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, conducting regular site inspections, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
4. Developing and managing project budgets, controlling project costs, and ensuring financial targets are met.
5. Leading and motivating a high-performing team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
6. Proactively identifying and resolving construction problems, mitigating project risks, and implementing changes where necessary.
7. Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear and consistent communication.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Construction Superintendent role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience in budgeting, subcontractor management, blueprint reading, scheduling, and site management.
3. Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of leading and motivating high-performing teams.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
6. A thorough understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
7. Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
8. A degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field would be advantageous.
