Brokerage Manager

We are offering an exciting opportunity in the logistics sector in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. As a Brokerage Manager, you will be playing a vital role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of goods to their customers while complying with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations. This role involves managing daily operations, improving operational processes, and maintaining efficient communication with the Operations department.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications

• Oversee the Cargowise systems and International Security Filing (ISF), ensuring adherence to Compliance & Training standards and customer SOP requirements

• Regularly create and prepare customer status reports

• Conduct audits on team entries and billing to ensure accuracy and identify training needs

• Adhere to and provide guidance to the team in areas of Customs Brokerage Regulations

• Monitor team performance against company standards and department goals, performing regular audits of shipment documents and accounting

• Ensure timely and orderly file flow, including release, billing, and auditing, by issuing work instructions to team members

• Evaluate staff training needs and develop corresponding objectives

• Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate department goals and expectations

• Review and assess documents for accuracy, verifying country of origin/export, Importer of Record (IOR), terms of sale, and value to ensure compliance with federal regulations

• Follow up daily on documentation discrepancy issues, troubleshooting, and communicating effectively with customers and foreign origins

• Address any unresolved issues or risks before they significantly impact the organization

• Collaborate closely with other departments and branches to deliver a high level of service to customers

• Ensure compliance with Custom’s regulations in all operations.

• Candidates must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Brokerage role or related field.

• Applicants are required to have a working knowledge and understanding of Customs Brokerage.

• Applicants are required to have a Customs Brokerage License
