ProCare Therapy is partnering with a local school district in Canton to fill a full-time School Psychologist position for the 2024-2025 academic year. Position Overview:
As a School Psychologist in Canton, youll play an integral role in fostering students academic and emotional well-being. You will conduct assessments, work with teachers and families, and provide counseling services to support each student's individual needs, helping them succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Psychological Evaluations: Conduct assessments to identify and address students' academic, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • IEP Collaboration: Collaborate with IEP teams to develop and implement strategies that support students with special learning or behavioral challenges.
  • Counseling Services: Provide individual and group counseling to assist students in overcoming social, emotional, and behavioral obstacles.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to establish effective support strategies.
  • Mental Health Advocacy: Promote student mental health and provide staff training on behavioral and emotional support.
  • Crisis Intervention: Participate in crisis response efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of students during urgent situations.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements: Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
  • Certification: Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid School Psychologist certification in Georgia.
  • Experience: Prior school experience is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Skills: Knowledge of child development, behavior management, and psychological assessments, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
