Job Description

Production specialists are tasked with refurbishing and refilling propane tanks. This role involves various tasks including sorting, dispatching, shotblasting, weight entry, labeling, and stacking. Quality checks are essential throughout all steps of the process to ensure tanks are free of leaks, weight issues, sleeve issues, and paint issues.

Responsibilities
  • Place tanks on conveyor belt and sort into 'acceptable' and 'needs work' piles.
  • Remove sleeves/peel labels from tanks.
  • Transport rusty, dented, or tanks needing paint touch-ups to the proper location manually.
  • Receive training in washer functions, dispatch, shotblasting, weight entry, capping (labeling), stacking (palletizing), and potentially painting.
  • Stack completed tanks for departure.
  • Perform regular quality checks throughout all steps to ensure tanks meet safety and quality standards.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in production, general production, and general labor.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions regardless of weather.
  • Capability to lift and carry tanks weighing 17-33 pounds, repetitively throughout the shift.
  • Willingness to learn and be trained in multiple tasks and departments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Comfortable working in a mix of indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Open to training and learning new steps at all times.
  • Ability to help out in every department as needed.

Work Environment

The work environment is a covered building with open doors, making it feel like working outdoors. It is very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer, as it is not climate controlled. Shifts are Monday/Tuesday 6AM-4:30PM or 6PM-4:30AM, or Wednesday/Thursday 6AM-4:30PM or 6PM-4:30AM. New hires start with 20 hours per week and can earn up to 40 hours with some optional overtime when they go full-time.

This is a Contract position based out of Walton, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.50
