Staff Accountant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our client in SE Portland. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and inventory accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries related to manufacturing operations, and including inventory transactions
- Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial data
- Assist with monthly and annual close processes, including preparation of financial statements and reports for management
- Review and reconcile inventory balances, ensuring accurate valuation and timely reporting of inventory movements
- Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, including processing invoices, payments, and aging reports
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and manufacturing cost accounting methods
- Experience with inventory management systems is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
