Medical Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria, perform routine and complex technical procedures, and monitor instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. This role is essential in delivering quality patient care through accurate and timely test results.
Responsibilities- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
- Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
- Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Experience with ASCP, MT, MLS, MLT, CLS, CLT, and laboratory work. Experience specifically in Hematology is desired.
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meeting local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
- Previous experience as a Medical Technologist/Technician is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
- High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
This position offers multiple locations and shifts. The South location is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5:30pm.
