SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist. This position requires a motivated and self-directed individual to oversee day to day general duties in receiving, handling, and accounting for inventory stock for the company. The individual who assumes this role will be organized, proactively communicate issues, and provide support with handling outstanding matters.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS:

Includes, but not limited to the following:

  • Utilizes mainframe computer terminal along with handheld portable computer to identify and then physically count the material in the various company locations. Adheres to strict accounting procedures in this regard.
  • Conducts daily cycle counts of inventory materials based upon suggested learned methodology as it pertains to this company.
  • Organizes and maintains warehouse and inventory yard areas for efficient material storage and handling. Maintains labeling system on each stock item as necessary and makes sure that stock is kept in an organized manner and in locations where it belongs.
  • This can be done by letting various supervisors throughout the plant know when something is “out of place”.
  • Maintains records and files of physical counts.
  • Performs related duties as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • OSHA Forklift Certification desired with lumber/manufacturing industry experience a plus
  • High school diploma required
  • Ability to work independently and/or with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness, and adaptable to a growing and changing environment
  • Highly effective time management and organizational skills, self-starter, meets/exceeds deadlines
