We are in search of a Director of Finance to join our non-profit team You will have a wide range of responsibilities, including financial management, overseeing the accounting and finance team, collaborating with both internal and external partners, and leading projects and objectives.


Responsibilities:


• Lead the Finance Department, setting priorities, goals, and objectives, as well as planning, organizing, and coordinating complex project activities.

• Review and approve invoices from subcontractors and training providers, ensuring consistency, budget compliance, and proper documentation.

• Manage an Accounting team of 3-4 members, guiding their day-to-day activities and development.

• Offer support and technical expertise to the Human Resources Coordinator in the administration of employee benefits.

• Oversee the maintenance of subsidiary ledgers for all contracts and training obligations.

• Prepare and present monthly reports, including leger reports and close-out reports.

• Ensure the monthly reconciliation of bank statements and other third-party transaction reports.

• Work closely with the Finance Manager in preparing Council Payroll, approving payroll transactions, and ensuring their accurate entry into accounting records.

• Carry out research and analytical reviews of all Programs and subcontractors, acting as a liaison in financial matters to subcontractors and providing related technical assistance as needed.

• Monitor cash flow, making cash projections/requests to maintain stable program operations.

• Compile and analyze budget information from all program operations, and research various accounting reports and finance records.

• Manage the financial system, entering, updating, and retrieving information as needed. Develop and prepare reports such as Quarterly and End of Year Fiscal Summaries.

• Respond to inquiries on fiscal procedures and policies, perform research on a variety of policy or procedurally related questions, and prepare standard operating procedures and related guidance and correspondence.

• Implement and monitor all new financial accounting and reporting standards, assessing their impact on financial accounting operations and reporting, ensuring all impacted personnel receive training and guidance, and recommending changes to accounting systems, while ensuring compliance of external auditors.

• Oversee purchasing and financial transactions, ensuring they are properly conducted and recorded in accordance with agency guideline

• A 5+ years of experience in a finance role, preferably in the non-profit sector

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Ability to prepare and manage an Annual Budget

• Proven experience in Auditing

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Capable of handling Month End Close procedures

• Expertise in Financial Reporting

• Experience with Subledger Accounting

• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
