Job Description

As a Food Production Associate/ Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processing lines and machinery. This includes tasks such as unloading/loading materials, following recipes, weighing/measuring raw ingredients, operating equipment, packaging the final product, and performing quality checks to meet company and customer requirements. You will assist in various areas of the production process as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Unload incoming shipments to supply production lines, including heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Follow production specifications to ensure the quality of the end product.
  • Operate various food production machinery.
  • Handle, weigh, measure, and store raw materials and dry ingredients.
  • Perform operator adjustments and adjust controls to maintain prescribed operating conditions.
  • Follow all SOPs to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices and all other company regulations and safety practices.
  • Maintain production records, including data such as weight, amount of product processed, downtime, type of product, and processing time.
  • Complete additional tasks as required or assigned.
  • Operate warehouse equipment like forklifts to organize and retrieve products ahead of shipments.
  • Package product and stock production materials.
  • Perform basic maintenance of machinery and workstations.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of manufacturing/production experience.
  • 6 months+ of food manufacturing experience with knowledge of food handling and GMPs.
  • 2+ years of machine operating experience.
  • Experience with forklift operation.
  • Experience in packaging and food manufacturing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Mechanical inclination.
  • Ability to follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately.
  • Basic use of computers, tablets, and scanners to record and track production data.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English to review and prepare shipment paperwork/documents.
  • Ability to drive a sit-down forklift.

Work Environment

This role is based in a food manufacturing environment with both hot (105&degree;F) and cold (68&degree;F) areas. The facility has a hot manufacturing operation on one side and a cold chocolate cooling/packaging operation on the other. Safety, quality, and hygiene are paramount, and you must ensure tools and equipment are in good working order, comply with all safety and quality regulations, and wear required safety gear. Physical requirements include standing, walking for prolonged periods, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and lifting in excess of 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis. You will be exposed to noise and temperature variations daily. Pacemakers are not permitted around magnets.
