Job Description

As an EDM Operator, you will perform essential operations on EDM machines, ensuring the production of high-quality parts for turbine engine aerospace applications. You will be responsible for loading and unloading parts, part inspection, electrode preparation, preventive maintenance, and data entry. Quality and efficiency are paramount in this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform required operations on EDM machines, including loading and unloading parts and part inspection.
• Prepare and change electrodes (training provided).
• Clean and perform preventive maintenance and minor adjustments on EDM machines.
• Prepare logs (referred to as travelers) and records to document machine operation and daily production.
• Enter required data into the computer (basic computer skills needed).
• Move and transport parts to the appropriate location using rolling tables.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
• Receive, review, and refer to various records and reports, including travelers, shift reports, SOP, and safety sheets.
• Prepare labor sheets and non-conformance forms.
• Interact and communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and other shop personnel.
• Set up and switch jobs as required (training provided).
• Maintain more than 98% efficiency on a daily basis, ensuring high-quality production.
• Maintain excellent attendance.
• Verify all parts conform before signing off on travelers.
• Keep track of all scrap and seek corrective actions.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED (verification required).
• Good basic computer skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CNC or other machine operation experience (preferred).
• Aerospace experience (preferred).
• EDM experience (preferred).
• Experience with micrometers and calipers (preferred).

Work Environment

The role requires standing, using hands and arms, and frequent communication. You must be able to work in confined spaces and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. The work environment can be loud, and specific vision abilities are required, including close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. The job also involves working in an office environment and using a computer for about 10% of the workday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00
