Job Description

The Maintenance Technician maintains industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand, and power tools. This position moves, assembles, installs, or dismantles machinery. The Tech will troubleshoot problems and repair or replace broken parts as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain all operational equipment and facility infrastructure.
  • Facilitate process set-up and start-up as needed.
  • Comply with all customer policies related to personal protective equipment (PPE), pre-job hazard analysis, lock-out tag-out (LOTO), hot work, hazardous work, confined space, line breaking, safe work, daily PM inspection, work order feedback, general equipment/line isolation.
  • Apply preventative measures to the building and equipment to reduce the risk of future problems.
  • Collaborate with other functional departments in the scheduling of downtime and repairs.
  • Stay informed of and comply with all safety policies, guidelines, and procedures at all times.
  • Address and/or respond to all safety hazards, near misses, and work-related incidents immediately.
  • Offer suggestions and support efforts to improve the safety culture.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in maintenance technician roles, including knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics for electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Skill in safely using hand tools, torches, welding equipment, pneumatic and/or electric tools, and precision measuring tools to make repairs or replace equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic equipment, and instrumentation to make appropriate repairs, calibration, recommendations, and/or replacements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Rotating equipment experience (e.g., rotary kiln, granulator) preferred.

Work Environment

It is a hot, dirty environment. The area is covered but subject to weather conditions. While you won't get wet in the rain or snow, it will be hot and cold depending on the season. Currently seeking weekend shift nights: Friday-Sunday (Work 36 hours, paid for 40).
