there are extra pay incentives for working in Refrigerator ($2 extra per hour) and Freezer ($3 extra per hour) environments

Job Description

As a Packaging Technician, you will apply Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and customer requirements in all areas of responsibility. You will comply with all safety regulations and conduct all activities in a safe, efficient manner. Your role will involve performing manual or automated assembly, manufacturing, filling, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products while ensuring adherence to specifications and maintaining the highest quality standards. You will also act as the primary performer of in-process and AQL inspections and other necessary tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Perform manual or automated assembly, manufacturing, filling, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products.
  • Ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards during the packaging process.
  • Conduct in-process and AQL inspections.
  • Complete computer-related tasks for signing in to a job, in-process actions, and data entry.
  • Participate in the start-up and closure of packaging jobs.
  • Clean packaging rooms and machinery in accordance with SOPs and GMP.
  • Accept or reject in-process clinical supplies and drug products.
  • Perform counts of components and drug products.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in assembly, GMP, labeling, cleanroom operations, packaging, and quality inspection.
  • Hand-eye coordination, dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks with both hands.
  • Mathematical skills for counting, adding, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.
  • Ability to interpret 2D diagrams and batch paperwork.
  • Capability to meet physical requirements, including standing continuously, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending frequently, squatting, and reaching above shoulder-level.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Initiative, follow-through on commitments, and adaptability to changing circumstances.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to work in primary, secondary, refrigerated (2 to 8&degree;C), and freezer (-20&degree;C) environments.
  • Willingness to accept and learn from feedback, especially related to Corrective or Preventative Actions.

Work Environment

The work environment includes working in a clean room that requires gowning, and candidates must be comfortable working in a freezer environment for up to 80% of their day. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) certification is required, including filtering face masks, PAPR, N-95 masks, half-face masks, and safety glasses.
