Job Description

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move materials to and from production lines. Your tasks will include gathering inventory, staging, stacking, and wrapping pallets, as well as loading and unloading trucks. This position involves working half the time in the production area and half in the warehouse/shipping area. You will play a critical role in getting products ready for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move materials
• Gather inventory and transport to production lines
• Move materials from docks to inventory and production lines to docks
• Stage, stack, and wrap pallets
• Prepare products for shipment
• Load and unload trucks
• Work across production and warehouse/shipping areas

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience operating sit-down forklifts
• Experience operating stand-up forklifts for the Alsip location
• Proficiency with RF scanners
• Ability to load and unload trucks

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in chemical, oil, or food manufacturing is a plus
• Ability to perform repetitive motions
• Strong multi-tasking skills
• Labor experience in packaging, sorting, and material handling

The Chicago Heights Facility, while not as new, is still well-maintained and temperature-controlled. It houses a larger workforce and handles more continuous batches and repetitive client orders. Both facilities prioritize safety and provide a structured and secure working environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alsip, Illinois.
