Job Description

In this position, you will work directly with 2-5 others on one machine to efficiently package finished materials as they come out of the Roll Forming machines. These machines produce metal shingles, siding, and gutters. Each machine will be operated by one Machine Operator II. Depending on the machine/product, you can expect to work with 2-5 other Packagers (Machine Operator I). Each product is visually quality checked to ensure no manufacturing defects are present.

Responsibilities
  • Work with others in a fast-paced environment, paying close attention to details.
  • Make boxes, package, palletize, and move products.
  • Use power tools such as drills, staple guns, and other pneumatic tools.
  • Learn several machines and work with different groups daily.
  • Perform visual quality checks to ensure products have no manufacturing defects.
Essential Skills
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience within a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Machine operating skills.
  • Quality check experience.
  • General labor and packing skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 6+ months in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and understand tape measures and calculators.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to measure parts as part of quality checks.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a plus.

Work Environment

Industrial manufacturing environment. Can get warm at times, and it can be loud due to running machines. Must be comfortable lifting 50-75lbs on occasion. 1st shift (6x): 7am - 3:30pm M-F. Exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and heat (proper PPE and safety training will be provided). Noise level is usually loud. Not temperature controlled - doors open in Summer and it can get warm. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
