Job Description

We are expanding our operations and in need of an experienced CNC Machinist on both 1st shift and 2nd shift in our Eldridge, Iowa location. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating CNC vertical machining centers, ensuring that parts are produced to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC vertical machining centers
• Write programs at the controller for a variety of parts using Mazatrol and FANUC controllers
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Align and secure material on the machine, position pieces to be machined into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools
• Specify and manage proper tooling for the part/job
• Detect worn tooling and adjust to ensure tolerances are met
• Unload inbound trucks using forklifts and overhead cranes
• Locate material and verify grade, size, and quantity by visually inspecting and physically measuring material
• Inspect all completed work for conformance to required material specifications

Essential Skills

• 1-3 years work experience operating CNC vertical machining centers
• Working knowledge of FANUC & Mazatrol controllers
• Working knowledge of G and M codes as related to vertical machining centers
• Working knowledge of CAD software related to CNC machining
• Advanced math skills and the ability to calculate feeds and speeds
• Knowledge of and ability to use tape measure, micrometer, and caliper
• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift certification
• Ability to specify and manage proper tooling for the part/job
• Knowledge of proper application of selected tooling
• Ability to detect worn tooling and adjust to ensure tolerances are met

Work Environment

Our facility is a larger, more manufacturing-focused environment rather than a warehouse. The shop is well-lit and has a small team size, ensuring you are not just a number. The atmosphere can be very dirty, and the temperature varies with the seasons, being warmer in the summer and colder in the winter. We also have an upgraded training area for OSHA trainings and orientations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00
