We are on the hunt for a dynamic, experienced and detail-oriented Permanent Staff Accountant to join our thriving team in the Mortgage industry. The chosen candidate will be part of an innovative environment that is dedicated to ensuring the financial health of our organization. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field, and who is proficient in Excel and Accpac.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Staff Accountant, your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to:

1. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of our accounting department.
2. Preparing financial statements, reports, memos, invoices letters, and other documents.
3. Handling monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
4. Reconciling accounts payable and receivable.
5. Ensuring company financial accounts, such as bank accounts, are managed and updated.
6. Reviewing and processing reimbursements.
7. Providing detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
8. Developing and maintaining financial policies and systems that comply with the company’s policies.
9. Working closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.
10. Participating in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this exciting role, the candidate will need to meet the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
3. Strong proficiency in Excel and Accpac.
4. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Hands-on experience with accounting software.
6. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
7. Experience with general ledger functions.
8. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
11. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
