Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLHH has a client who is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and resolving overdue accounts, ensuring timely payment, and maintaining positive customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
  • Contact customers via phone, email, and mail to collect overdue payments.
  • Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts and follow up on outstanding debts.
  • Negotiate payment plans and offer solutions to settle debts.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer communication and payment status.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as sales and accounting to resolve billing disputes.
  • Review and monitor accounts for credit risk, escalating unresolved issues as necessary.
  • Prepare reports on collection activities, account status, and aging of receivables.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations related to debt collection.
  • Assist with legal administrative tasks such as preparing legal documents, scheduling appointments, and conducting research.
  • Organize and maintain legal files, ensuring that all documents are filed correctly and easily accessible.
  • Draft correspondence, affidavits, and other legal documents under the supervision of attorneys.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in collections, customer service, or a related role.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collections software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
  • Experience with legal administrative tasks and a basic understanding of legal terminology.

 

Pay Details: $26.00 to $29.00 per hour
