Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are providing a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in the Financial Services industry. This role is based in TONAWANDA, New York, 14150-2126, United States. As a Collections Specialist, you will be tasked with managing a portfolio of accounts, reporting to clients, and participating in department meetings, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
• Handle a portfolio of 400-550 accounts, ensuring efficient collection processes.
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates on the status of their accounts.
• Engage in skip tracing of individual claims based on the situation.
• Refer certain accounts to legal counsel when necessary and close accounts where required.
• Be an active participant in monthly department meetings and occasional office functions.
• Contribute to various office projects and participate in contests as needed.
• Take part in ongoing detail oriented development through educational programs, seminars, and online training.
• Foster a detail oriented working relationship with team members, the department, and the company.
• Monitor, train, and motivate your collection team and other department members.
• Collaborate with the Team Leader and General Collection Manager on process review and improvement.
• Conduct regular client follow-up through phone calls, emails, and personal visits.
• Cultivate and develop client relationships continuously.
• Demonstrate leadership within your team and the department through exemplifying strong work ethic and detail orientedism.• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Proven experience in a similar role within the Financial Services industry
• Proficiency in B2B collections
• Excellent knowledge of billing procedures
• Familiarity with collection laws and regulations
• Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Proficiency in using financial software and databases
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
• Excellent customer service skills.
