POSITION: Palletizer / Logistics Technician
REPORTS TO: Production Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
PAY: $18.50 per hour
HOURS: 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Primary job duties include palletizing finished products, pulling loads from the finishing area to the stretch wrapper, and performing logistics technician tasks. Operates the industrial forklift/roll clamp to move materials in the warehouse and to load and unload truck trailers or shipping containers. Performs daily inspections of the forklift/box clamp/roll clamp for general maintenance and repairs. Ensures inventory accuracy and supports logistics operations. Responsible for following all required safety regulations while operating the forklift/roll clamp. When extra crew is needed for down stacking, the palletizer/logistics technician’s main duties are to help downstack, pull and wrap loads, and put them away in the FG area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Work in accordance with state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, along with all company policies and procedures.
- Palletize finished products according to customer specifications.
- Report to the Production Manager any damage to racks, faulty equipment, or other safety hazards.
- Maintain material handling equipment and conduct proper inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Communicate effectively with other work areas, such as quality and production, to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Read and correctly interpret documents for the proper handling of incoming and outgoing materials.
- Pay attention to detail when moving materials to various locations within the facility.
- Organize and secure stored materials such as bales, boxes, pallets, rolls, etc.
- Perform general housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of the dock and inventory areas.
- Move finished products away from lines to be wrapped and warehoused.
- Use software and scan guns to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Ability to work in a plant environment – sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, lift, twist, kneel, crouch, crawl, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach, and stoop as needed.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be or become certified on Material Handling equipment.
