Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to utilize stand-up forklifts to move products from fabrication to paint. The role involves performing inventory transactions using a handheld scanner and assisting other material handlers in the fabrication department.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up forklifts to transport products from fabrication to paint.
• Perform inventory transactions using a handheld scanner.
• Utilize shipping software with strong computer skills.
• Assist other material handlers in the fabrication department.
• Lift and carry up to 10 lbs constantly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Push and pull up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Perform tasks involving walking and standing for 8-12 hour shifts.
• Frequently use hands and fingers to pick parts and grip objects, tools, scanners, etc.
• Occasionally crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, and reach forward and overhead.
• Bend, twist/turn, push/pull, reach overhead, and grasp tools as necessary.
• Operate powered equipment as required.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in inventory, material handling, part picking, or similar positions.
• Experience using RF scanning devices.
• Effective communication skills in English (speak, read, write, and understand).
• Basic counting, adding, and subtracting skills.
• Good organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs constantly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Capability to perform tasks involving walking and standing for full 8-12 hour shifts.
• Proficiency in using hands and fingers to pick parts and grip objects, tools, scanners, etc.
• Flexibility to occasionally crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, and reach forward and overhead.

Work Environment

This is a manufacturing facility that is not air-conditioned and can get hot during the summer. The paint department is air-conditioned when handling painting parts. However, the majority of the job involves moving materials in the fabrication area where the paint line/track is located, which can be warm. Candidates must be comfortable working in this environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, Minnesota.

The pay range for this position is $20.70 - $20.70
