Accounts Payable Clerk

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are providing a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in FLUSHING, New York. The individual will be part of a team within the finance industry, responsible for managing and executing transactions related to accounts payable.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team for invoice matching
• Solve any potential issues by applying your understanding of basic accounting principles
• Assist in managing the fixed asset process with your foundational knowledge
• Contribute to the overall efficiency of the team by demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt
• Ensure smooth operation of account payable functions without the need for heavy accounting tasks such as reconciliations or General Ledger work
• Leverage your basic understanding of accounting software to facilitate tasks.• A minimum of an associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role.
• Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in Accounts Payable (AP).
• Familiarity with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks.
• Strong numeracy and data entry skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors.
• Good organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to continue learning and improving accounting skills.
