Description

The Sales Representative is a highly self-motivated, independent, and driven individual. The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling the product portfolio to pharmaceutical, biological, laboratory, food, and/or other customers. This individual must have strong cold calling skills. This person will be tasked with seeking and closing new business opportunities, leveraging new and existing relationships, and clearly demonstrating that the company is the leading industry provider of temperature sensitive packaging materials. This rep will also learn and have a commanding knowledge of our product lines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrates strong understanding of packaging products, promotes and sells offerings to individual customers within assigned territory. Displays thorough and recent competitive knowledge of features, benefits, product differences, pricing, and campaigns

2. Independently establishes and organizes daily sales activities through cold calling customer follow up, and strategic account development.

3. Generates business through established and approved creative methods of lead generation

4. Properly utilize software resources including CRM, Sage, Office, Webinar and Conference software, etc.

5. Create and professionally present PowerPoints on marketing, training, and selling

6. Implement sales strategies to attain sales volume, product mix and profit objectives

7. Negotiates prices or terms of sales or service agreements

8. Calls on prospective customers, masters effective sales presentations, provides technical and administrative product information, demonstrations, and quotes customer appropriate prices

9. Implements effective sales closing techniques to ensure product sales goal is achieved

10. Responsible for achieving sales quotas through the direct sale of the company's products or services

11. Monitors sales against forecasts and determines the objective for gained market share within the assigned territory

12. Works closely with inside sales, customer service and operations to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

13. Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships within the organization

14. Provides feedback and daily, monthly, and annual reports to Sales Manager to enhance profitability of sales territory

15. Promotes company through positive ongoing relationships and activities

Skills & Qualifications

1. Demonstrates record of growth in a sales environment with emphasis on business to business sales and includes inside sales, outside sales, business development, cold calling

2. Candidate must possess strong persuasive interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, as well as negotiation and presentation skills.

3. Position requires ability to analyze and interpret data for effective sales strategies.

4. Minimal travel is required, but may involve visits either individually or with other personnel.

5. Trade show attendance locally and regionally as needed

6. Must have good organization and time management skills.

7. Ability to understand and adapt to customers' changing needs.

8. Demonstrates business acumen and strong knowledge of sales processes

9. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events

Minimum Education and Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; college education preferred. 1 year or more of Direct Sales experience strongly preferred.
