Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Production Supervisor to manage and oversee production operations. The ideal candidate will ensure all scheduled jobs are completed efficiently and on time, maintain high quality standards, and foster a productive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Inform employees in advance of all scheduled jobs and provide them with all necessary information to ensure 100% job completion and avoid downtime.
  • Answer all questions from employees, provide suggestions, and offer solutions.
  • Complete all scheduled jobs efficiently and on time from start to finish.
  • Check all paperwork to avoid errors and ensure quality control.
  • Address and resolve quality issues with employees promptly.
  • Check the quality of the final product before shipment to ensure it meets customer specifications.
  • Step in or fill in for employees during absences while maintaining accuracy and production flow.
  • Work closely with employees to improve their work and clarify expectations for consistency.
  • Develop and implement improvements for the plant.
  • Maintain an orderly shop and ensure maintenance schedules are completed timely.
  • Keep accurate job sheets and conduct yield studies to determine job outcomes.
  • Provide feedback on production runs and lumber quality and review with the office for appropriate changes.
Essential Skills
  • Strong communication skills to effectively inform and guide employees.
  • Experience in production supervision, overseeing at least 5 people.
  • Ability to fill in for employees during absences and maintain production flow.
  • Production management and operational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a similar role is required.

Work Environment

The work environment is very clean with pallets of wood in the warehouse and a total of 4 machines. The role requires a shift from 6:15 am to 2:45 pm, and the workspace should be left clean, neat, and orderly.
