At The J.R. Simplot Company, we are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic Class AA to join our team at our Moses Lake, WA facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of our production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe operation of moving equipment and other potential safety hazards in a production plant.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other support groups to achieve operational goals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting techniques to ensure the efficient operation of all equipment on the premises.
  • Complete equipment overhauls, repairs, installations, or modifications in a timely manner and comply with industry standards and codes related to safety and quality.
  • Utilize computer and computer programs to communicate, document, and track shift information and ensure accurate completion of documents and reports.
  • Participate in training activities to acquire new skills and knowledge and assist in training other personnel.
  • Maintain Company standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation, and GMPs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 6 months mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting experience or equivalent education
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics
  • Basic electrical repair in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings and write detailed repair reports
  • Ability to analyze and make decisions
  • Ability to diagram equipment control problems
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Good organizational and planning skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with 480-volt power and 24 control voltages to 120 volt electrical troubleshooting
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley SLC500 and MicroLogix series

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and move heavy equipment
  • Climb ladders and work in high, precarious places

Working Environment:

  • May be exposed to wet or humid conditions
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions
  • May be exposed to high noise environments
  • May be exposed to chemicals used in the process
  • Could be in temperatures of -5 degrees
