Auxiliary Services Leadership Position

Wake Forest University seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services. This leadership position is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the university's auxiliary services, including Dining Services, University Stores, and other external vendors.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to advance the mission of the university. A bachelor's degree in management or a related field, or 3 years of relevant experience in university auxiliary services leadership, is required.

The Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the strategic planning and direction for future partnerships in Dining and Stores and other external vendors as needed.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for external service providers.
  • Leading interdepartmental collaborations, especially facilities and campus services, to ensure the care of operational equipment and facilities to minimize downtime or closure.
  • Assisting in monitoring budgets.
  • Preparing goals and objectives for each area under the direction of the Vice President of Hospitality and Auxiliary Services.
  • Assisting with the administrative oversight of contract terms and agreements.
  • Coordinating with campus leadership in recommending capital projects.
  • Coordinating with the University events office to support special events.
  • Working closely with the University community - faculty, staff, students, and visitors - to be responsive to changing access needs and demands.
  • Helping lead efforts to deliver sustainable initiatives for areas of oversight in partnership with the Office of Sustainability.
  • Providing routine oversight and direction to external service providers.
  • Leading meal plan competitive pricing and recommendations for tuition and fee adjustments.
  • Ensuring third-party providers comply with local regulations and standards such as Department of Health, safety, and compliance.
  • Participating in the meal plan appeals process and adjudicating appeals in collaboration with other committee members.
  • Representing Hospitality and Auxiliary Services as a member of the Incident Management Team (IMT).
  • Being subject to recall after hours in the event of campus emergencies, disasters, or other special needs as directed by management.

This is a full-time position that requires a valid driver's license with a good driving record and the ability to work any schedule/shift. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent customer service skills.
