Means Industries is seeking a skilled Payroll Clerk to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll administration and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of payroll activities, including preparing and transmitting weekly union and non-union payrolls.
  • Process bi-weekly salary payrolls and balance the payrolls and generate related journal entries.
  • Issue and distribute pay checks, monitor benefit withholding, payroll deductions, garnishments, etc.
  • Provide support with reconciling payroll information to general ledger and maintain payroll records.
  • Time sheet management and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A dedicated person who has earned their associate degree, Bachelors preferred in finance/accounting, or Certification in Payroll.
  • 3-4 years' experience in payroll administration or accounting.
  • Strong mathematical skills, detail, analytical, and accuracy skills with integrity to handle confidential and highly sensitive information.
  • Strong Excel skills for reporting, metrics and data validation, computer literacy, and sound knowledge of Microsoft applications is required.
  • Familiarity with the payroll process start to finish.
  • Strong planning and organization skills including e-organization is critical.
  • UltiPro payroll software experience can be beneficial and Workforce Dimensions timekeeping a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness.
  • Can apply critical thinking to all work areas, communicate and understand potential consequences or opportunities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Associates or better in accounting or related field.

Bachelor's or better in Finance or related field.

3-4 years' experience in payroll administration or accounting.
