Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse to join our Float Pool team. As a Float Pool Nurse, you will provide professional nursing care to patients across various specialties, including Emergency Department (Adults), Emergency Department (Pediatrics), Inpatient (Adults), Critical Care/Telemetry (Adults), and Medical-Surgical (Adults).
You will diagnose and treat responses to actual or potential health problems using evidence-based nursing methods and techniques. Additionally, you will ensure optimal utilization of resources, deliver high-quality patient care, and comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and NYC Health + Hospitals rules and regulations.
Responsibilities- Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
- Select and perform therapeutic measures essential for effective execution of the nursing regimen.
- Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients.
- Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes.
- Interpret and report patient responses to healthcare teams.
- Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and contribute to policy development.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- One year of clinical nursing experience in the specialty area.
- Holds or obtains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
