We are a leading logistics company seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Freight and Logistics Manager. As a key member of our operations department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our logistics services.

Job Summary:

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to take on a leadership position within our company. You will be responsible for coordinating with our sales team, operations department, and clients to ensure seamless delivery of our logistics services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Client Onboarding: Assist clients in understanding our logistics services and facilitate their onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Coordinate with Sales Team: Work closely with our sales team to establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implement them through systems, training, and coordination with operations.
  • Interact with Clients: Respond to client inquiries directly and indirectly from our sales team to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Align Client Reporting and Retention: Provide face-to-face interactions with clients to understand their needs, align reporting, and foster retention to increase business from existing clients.
  • Understand Logistics Operations: Develop expertise in Air Export/Import, Ocean Freight, Customs Brokerage, and Warehousing to provide comprehensive logistics solutions.
  • Data Entry and Monitoring: Perform data entry, document upload, and monitoring of customer and 3rd party vendor cloud-based portals to ensure accurate and timely data management.
  • EDI and FTP Folder Management: Monitor EDI via FTP folders, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to ensure proper alignment with customer reports and MEC operating system.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Foster teamwork within the MEC LAX station and other stations in the network to achieve operational excellence.
  • Client Knowledge and Billing: Develop in-depth knowledge of all clients and files from operations and sales standpoints, and manage 3rd party billing for all product support.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years working experience in the forwarding industry, with solid knowledge of export/import processes in The Americas region.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good planning, problem-solving, and organization skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office applications, with strong PC skills and ability to efficiently solve problems.
  • Freight Forwarding Experience: Strong air, ocean, and brokerage experience to lead main LAX products, with air imports experience being necessary.
  • Customer Service Experience: Customer service experience desirable to deal with clients directly, with ability to do quotations, reporting, and reply promptly to requests from clients.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
