Job Summary

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography scans to create cross-sectional images of tissues and internal organs to be used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs CT scans on patients, preparing them for the scan, explaining the procedure, and administering contrast when necessary.
  • Selects appropriate imaging techniques and ensures the technical quality of the scan.
  • Enters and monitors patient data, performs quality assurance on CT equipment, and assists with initial and renewal applications for ACR and other accreditation.
  • Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
  • Takes emergency calls within the department and may be required to work weekends and float to other locations as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT).
  • Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT)) in Computed Tomography.
