Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Platinum Dermatology Partners. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dermatology team.

Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, assist with preparation for exams, and ensure a smooth patient experience.
  • Enter medical histories and prescriptions into our electronic medical record system with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing support and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Perform extractions, injections, and other patient treatments as needed, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments as required.
  • Educate patients on medical instructions, respond to patient questions, and provide clear communication on office and phone interactions.
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies to maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office, with prior dermatology experience preferred.
  • Certification preferred (e.g., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with patients and coworkers.
  • Knowledge of medical dermatology terms, CPT, and ICD-10 coding systems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
Work Environment

This position is located in a well-lighted medical office environment, with occasional evening and weekend work. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

Physical Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the manual dexterity to operate office machines, including computers and calculators, and will be able to stoop, bend, and move to handle files and supplies. The position also requires mobility to complete errands or deliveries, and includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
