Job Summary

The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking an entry-level Warehouse Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse, including receiving, processing, and storing inventory, as well as delivering goods to various departments.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Receive and process shipments of commodities and equipment, including inspecting, counting, and checking items for compliance or damage.
  2. Pick and deliver warehouse stock to assigned units and departments, either manually or using warehouse lifting devices.
  3. Enter data into MIMS and CAPPS Financials computer programs to provide accurate and timely issuance and receiving of warehouse stock and nonstock items.
  4. Assist with conducting inventories, reconciling variances, and maintaining inventory of warehouse stock supplies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have the ability to perform general warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, issuing, customer service, and inventory control. You should also be able to use mechanical lifting devices to aid in the movement of goods and review warehouse rules, regulations, and policies for compliance.

This is a physically active and service-oriented position that requires a sense of energy, passion, honesty, good attendance, and personal responsibility. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, and benefits include paid vacation, sick, and holidays, as well as employer-paid health benefits and a defined benefit retirement plan.

Essential Functions
  1. Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency and departmental leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
  2. Loads and unloads supplies and equipment to and from delivery vehicles, using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  3. Delivers non-stock items to ordering departments in a timely manner, providing users with supplies and/or equipment.
  4. Assists with conducting inventories, reconciling variances, and maintaining inventory of warehouse stock supplies.

This is a physically active and service-oriented position that requires a sense of energy, passion, honesty, good attendance, and personal responsibility. We offer a competitive compensation package, including an annual starting salary of $32,096 and employer-paid health benefits.
