MRI Technologist

Ochsner Health System is currently hiring a MRI Technologist in Slidell, LA. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for maintaining safety in the MRI environment while assessing patients and safely performing routine MRI procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols.

The Registered MRI Technologist is a clinical mentor for junior staff and students. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a variety of patients and cases, and to contribute to the development of our team's skills and knowledge.

Total Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000-$80,000, depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, PTO, life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D), and retirement plan.

• Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
• Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol (including placement of IV).
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards.
• Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performing notification/remediation as warranted.
• Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).

• Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• ARRT registered as an MR technologist, OR ARDMS certified with an Associate degree or Bachelor degree in an allied health field, OR NMTCB certified with an Associate degree or Bachelor degree in an allied health field.
• 1+ year of experience as an MRI Technologist.
• Advanced certification in MRI required by an organization recognized by the ACR Registry within two years of employment.
• Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
