About the Position

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a skilled Practical Nurse to join our team at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in our Outpatient Nursing Service - Specialty Care Clinic. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a LPN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, administering medications, and performing various clinical duties under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and performing treatments as prescribed by a physician.
* Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
* Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless transitions of care and effective communication among team members.
* Perform routine laboratory tests, such as phlebotomy and urinalysis, as needed.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documenting patient information and treatment plans.

Requirements

* Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
* Current licensure as a licensed practical nurse in the state of Washington or another state with reciprocity.
* One year of experience working as a LPN in an outpatient setting, preferably in a specialty care clinic.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
