Cell Manufacturing Engineering Automation Specialist

Tesla's Cell Manufacturing Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, commissioning, and ramping high-speed automated equipment in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
About the Role:This role will involve driving design, development, commissioning, and ramp of part feeding, material handling/loading, and active mover or linear motion conveyance systems used in custom high-speed automated manufacturing equipment. You will also be responsible for designing equipment fixtures, part loading, feeding, and conveyance equipment to add functionality and improve productivity.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive design, development, commissioning, and ramp of part feeding, material handling/loading, and active mover or linear motion conveyance systems used in custom high-speed automated manufacturing equipment.
- Design equipment fixtures, part loading, feeding, and conveyance equipment to add functionality and improve productivity.
- Work collaboratively as the equipment expert to ensure production lines run in a safe, efficient manner producing high-quality parts.
- Become owner/subject matter expert to drive equipment-related process improvement, including detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Become owner of data management effectiveness and reliability for automated active mover/transport systems.
- Debug and optimize automated processes to reduce cycle times and maximize OEE.
- Troubleshoot and recover processes using PLC, HMI, or tool management software, and implement changes/improvements.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in interdisciplinary/integrated Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will also need to have demonstrated experience ramping equipment into manufacturing, including automation assembly equipment, parts and material feeding, active mover and linear motion platforms, web handling, electromechanical systems, PLCs, motion controls, vision systems, and data capture.
