Job Description


The Lifeguard is a support position to the Recreation Department at Park Hyatt Aviara. This role involves maintaining a safe and clean pool environment, providing customer service, and assisting with recreation rental equipment. The successful candidate will observe swimmers, protect life, prevent accidents, enforce regulations, and perform related tasks as required.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe activities in and around the pool to ensure policies, rules, and regulations are observed, and hazards are eliminated or minimized.
  • Maintain discipline among group and individual swimmers.
  • Rescue persons in danger and provide first aid as necessary.
  • Provide accurate information about aquatic facilities and programs, assist with special events, and maintain the operation of aquatic facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess current certificates in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (CPR-FPR) and Lifeguard Training. You should have knowledge of principles and techniques of preventive lifeguarding, water rescues, first aid, and CPR. Additionally, you must be able to swim with proficiency and endurance, analyze situations effectively, maintain constant observation of an assigned area, and deal tactfully with guests.
