Financial Operations Manager

The Financial Operations Manager collaborates closely with the Controller to oversee the organization's fiscal activities and management.
This role involves assisting in the preparation and evaluation of financial statements, budgets, and financial planning, as well as generating various financial reports.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential, as this position will interact with all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Controller in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Manage the preparation and review of weekly and monthly financial reporting packages, ensuring data integrity and accuracy while overseeing the data entry into Oracle EPM.
- Regularly review financial data to guarantee its fairness and completeness.
- Assess internal controls, implement new measures as necessary, and enhance existing protocols, establishing new policies and procedures.
- Lead weekly inventory meetings and conduct comprehensive reserve analyses.
- Prepare reports summarizing and forecasting the company's business activities and financial standing, focusing on income, expenses, and earnings based on historical, current, and anticipated operations.
- Report month-end financial results to division and plant management within a three-day closing period.
- Collaborate with the Controller on budget preparation, review budget proposals, and compile necessary supporting documentation and justifications.
- Review journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations at month-end for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain detailed records of construction in progress with supporting documentation and work with the management team to submit capital requests.
- Coordinate with the SOX Coordinator and Compliance Manager to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare reports required by regulatory bodies.
- Support corporate economic strategies and objectives by overseeing general accounting policies and processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
- Understanding of accounting and financial issues within a manufacturing context.
- Strong background in product cost accounting and standard costs.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify variances from forecasts, and utilize this analysis for future projections.
- Proactive, hands-on strategic thinker with robust problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven track record of enhancing internal controls.
Experience & Education:
Candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- A minimum of five years of accounting experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Previous public accounting experience with manufacturing clients is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations is preferred.
- Extensive experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Excel.
