Patient Care Technician Rehabilitation Float Specialist

MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Technician Rehabilitation Float to join our team at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including assisting with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, and rehabilitation.
- Assist nursing, medical, and therapy staff with procedures, tests, and rehabilitation treatments.
- Support patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and perform specific care activities such as specimen collection, phlebotomy, and intravenous (IV) catheter insertion.
- Document patient information in the health record and maintain accurate records of patient intake and output.
- Perform routine sterile and non-sterile treatments, including tube feedings, ostomy care, and wound care.
- Assist with patient mobilization and rehabilitation, use of crutches and walkers, and transfer/transport of patients in wheelchairs and stretchers.
- Transport and/or escort patients during discharges, transfers, and/or medical appointments.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant certification program.
- 1-2 years' experience as a certified nursing assistant.
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant in the District of Columbia.
- BLS - Basic Life Support.
- CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification.
- Experience as a care technician.
- General health care experience in acute care, long-term care, or other settings.
- Student nurse in junior or senior year.
