About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Electrical and Mechanical Systems Specialist to join our team in Charlotte. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for analyzing and correcting production machines that require knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical principles.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including AC and DC control circuits, single and three-phase motor controls, and VFD motor controllers. They will also have experience with PLCs and electrical testing and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and correct production machines using electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical principles
  • Install and maintain the Plant's electrical system to provide power for machines, equipment, lighting, and other electrical applications
  • Detect, isolate, and correct electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems, including replacement and adjustment of components, integral units, motors, controls, switches, standard devices, valves, and gear
  • Use appropriate test instruments, gear, and equipment to test and ensure compatibility and safety of all circuits, components, switches, controls, etc., to assure correct performance, quality, and operation
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Vocational or high school graduate plus an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent appropriate training
  • Broad knowledge of recognized trade or craft techniques and applications, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic principles
  • Excellent trouble shooting abilities
  • Good mental and visual abilities, with good dexterity and high attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of AC & DC control circuits, including single and three-phase motor controls
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with VFD Motor Controllers and PLCs
  • Ability to perform electrical testing and troubleshooting
  • Good math skills which includes knowledge of fraction principles
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role
