Overview

Mercy Hospital Washington, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Nurse to join our team on a full-time basis. As a key member of our 30-bed Medical/Surgical Unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and contribute to delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled RN who can provide high-quality nursing care to patients with various medical conditions, including GI, Oncology, UTI, Dehydration, Pneumonia, COPD, Wounds, and Post-Op care. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and accountability.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care, assessing their physical and emotional needs, and developing individualized plans to meet those needs.
• Administer medications, perform procedures, and educate patients and families on health-related topics.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, share information, and address concerns.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to ongoing efforts to enhance patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), or completion within 30 days of hire
    • Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
    • Licensure: Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
    • Physical Requirements: Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly; prolonged standing and walking each shift;
    • Certifications: Other unit-specific certifications as required or acquisition within department timeframe
