Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our Interventional Radiology team at Kaiser Permanente. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with a range of procedures using fluoroscopic imaging that require the use of contrast media.
  • Use proper radiation safety measures to conform to the ALARA principle according to departmental Radiation Safety Policies & Procedures.
  • Prepare work schedules to assure that sufficient number of staff is available for patient appointments.
  • Assure that staff explains Interventional Radiology procedures to patients and that consent forms are obtained.
  • Actively participate in the Universal Protocol for all procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance to assure that equipment is properly and safely operated.
  • Assist staff to confirm that images meet requirements of radiologists.
  • Check the status of the imaging and specialty equipment to ensure device is proper operating condition.
  • Troubleshoot technical and mechanical problems and performs minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Properly enter service requests for equipment failure and notifies IR Manager appropriately.
  • Order equipment, film, and supplies and assures that inventories are properly managed.
  • Assure that patient information files are prepared and filed correctly.
  • Review and submit reports showing the number and type of examinations conducted.
  • Perform QC Lead duties as an Interventional Radiology Technologist as required.
  • Perform other related QC Lead duties as directed.
Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years of recent (within the last 12 months) experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital supporting fluoroscopy and c-arm/surgical procedures.
  • Graduate of a certified/accredited ARRT program required.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Cardiac Interventional Radiography within 24 months of hire OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Vascular Interventional Radiography within 24 months of hire OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography within 24 months of hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Basic Life Support.
